Brazil

Regulation No. 369 requires toys to betested for toxicity. Toys including powder, paste, glue or liquid componentsmust meet the requirements of OECD guideline No. 423 / 2001 on chemical testingor relevant standards. The regulation clearly prohibits the use of tracephthalates in toys. In particular, toys made of vinyl plastics shall notcontain more than 0.1% of DEHP, DBP or BBP. At the same time, toys for childrenunder three years old that can be put into the mouth are also prohibited tocontain DINP, DIDP or DOP with a concentration of more than 0.1%.
